Ethics and Advocacy in a time of Trump: A conversation with Lucy Caldwell

Political strategist and democracy advocate Lucy Caldwell joins Peter Loge, the director of the Project on Ethics in Political Communication on Monday, Nov. 10 at 2:00pm ET.

Details and registration here.

Lucy Caldwell is a political strategist and technology executive who has dedicated her career to fighting rising U.S. authoritarianism. A former Republican, Caldwell cut her teeth in issue advocacy, political communications and grassroots activation at the Goldwater Institute before launching and serving as Chief Strategy Officer of Crowdskout, a data management and marketing platform in the political space that was named "Best Advocacy Technology Platform" by Campaigns & Elections before its successful acquisition in 2019. Named by Business Insider as one of the "Most Powerful Women Behind The Scenes" in the 2020 presidential campaign cycle, Caldwell served as Campaign Manager to former Tea Party Congressman-turned-NeverTrumper Joe Walsh's insurgent primary challenge to Donald Trump, characterized by The New York Times as a "David and Goliath" effort to break the grip of Trumpism on the GOP and ultimately credited by The Bulwark as an essential ingredient to delivering a Biden victory in 2020.

Caldwell has appeared on MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, and NPR, and she frequently writes and speaks on the collision of politics, technology, and issue-advocacy. A graduate of Harvard College, Caldwell serves as an advisory board member to Garry Kasparov's Renew Democracy Initiative, as well as a founding advisor to The Atoll Society.

The conversation will be done webinar-style with a live audience. I will also post a recording of the conversation on the Project on Ethics in Political Communication’s website.
